About Me
Hi, I’m Holly Cook — a photographer based in the Pacific Northwest.
For many years, my work centered around dogs. In July of last year, I lost my heart dog, and with that loss came a deep shift in how I relate to photography. Stepping away from dog photography wasn’t a business decision — it was a personal one. Grief changes the way I see the world, and for a time, it changed the way I saw things through my camera.
What remained was the need to create.
Photography as Reflection
Today, my work is quieter and more reflective. I focus on creating images that hold emotion, memory, and atmosphere — photographs that invite you to pause, breathe, and feel.
I’m drawn to natural light, water, subtle movement, and the layered moods of the Pacific Northwest. My images often explore stillness, transition, and the beauty found in fleeting moments.
Photography, for me, is no longer about directing a subject. It’s about noticing what’s already there.
Artwork & Offerings
My current work includes:
Fine art photography inspired by the landscapes and waters of the Pacific Northwest
Limited-edition prints and collections designed to be lived with, not just displayed
The Postcard Club — a monthly subscription that brings a small piece of my work into your mailbox. Each postcard features an original photograph, thoughtfully printed and mailed as a quiet moment of connection, reflection, and beauty.
Personal projects that explore memory, grief, joy, and connection which can be found on my blog.
The Postcard Club is especially close to my heart. It’s meant to be simple and human — a tangible reminder to slow down, notice, and hold something real in your hands.
Each piece is created slowly and intentionally, with space for interpretation and meaning.
Rooted in the Pacific Northwest
I’m based near Seattle and continually inspired by this region — its changing light, quiet shorelines, misty mornings, and emotional weight. These elements shape both the visual and emotional tone of my work.
Photography is how I process the world. It’s how I honor what has been loved, what has been lost, and what continues to unfold.
Thank you for being here.
— Holly
